Get Radical
Commit yourself to seven days of sticking with those tips given. If you are serious with staying pure, it is more than prayer or speaking in tongues but applying practical steps after you have prayed.
Now after you have committed yourself to do those things. You must get radical with your life, there are no two ways to do it.
For example, If you have problem with pornography, you may need to completely destroy and stop completely watching all movies that will sow the smallest seed in your heart,delete all the porns on your phone, and even disconnect from the internet until you are able to discipline yourself because you can’t be exposing yourself to things that will remind you of those things and think the Holy spirit will help you.
When Jesus said that if your left hand will cause you to sin cut it off, He was saying get radical for holiness. Nothing should be too difficult for you to do away with–we are talking of your eternity here.
Hebrews 12:4 says “You have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.”
The next thing you should do is, get a serious christian that you can trust, open up to them and tell them to be your accountability partner.
You can’t do it on your own, be accountable to someone on your progress. Call up the person when you feel the urge to break your decision, be open. Sin thrives in secrecy, don’t be ashamed to open up.
An accountability partner watches over you, prays for you, corrects you and call you to order. Aside the fact that you are even trying to stop a habit and develop a new one, everyone of us need an accountability partner.
Lastly, desire to get close to God more than ever before. Let your love for God drive your desire for purity. Joseph said in Gen 29:9 “How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?”
Print that statement and paste it somewhere on the wall. Read it everyday.
