We continue our study of Romans.

Before Adam sinned, he was a perfect image of God who had dominion over all things. He was given the power of choice and he walked according to the plan of God for his life.
But when sin came, it corrupted the seed of God in him and because God is a just God, Adam got the consequence of the sin he committed and forever his lineage is subject to the power of sin. It means every consequence that Adam suffered as a result of his sin, he passed unto us all.
However God in his infinite love sought out a way to redeem Adam from the clutches of sin unto himself. He declared that there will be shedding of blood for redemption, the blood shed will serve as a new covenant between God and whoever lay claim to the sacrifice. This continued for a long time.
But God wanted a permanent solution, he came in the form of a man like Adam that he created at the beginning to walk the earth and live the life Adam was supposed to live on the earth.
Jesus lived a sinless life and because he wasn’t a seed of Adam, he became qualified to be a permanent sacrifice to cut a new covenant of redemption for the seed of Adam.
By Adam came death, by Jesus came life. That is why Jesus declared in John 14:6 “I am the way the truth and the life. No one can come to the father except by me”
Jesus is THE way and not A way. He has opened the way to the holy of holies unto us. We then can approach the throne of mercy to seek forgiveness and receive grace.
Have you truly received Jesus into your life? Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power? Have you cut a new covenant with God to restore the glory you lost when Adam sinned?
Today is another opportunity.
