*OTM’s Frank Talk…who is the most beautiful girl in…*

I have always been fascinated with the incredible potentials locked up in a seed since my days in school studying for a degree in Biology. This fascination went further when we started studying genetics and I saw the incredible powers that God locked up inside a gene.

When we looked at the genetic make up of Albinos, I was excited and my interest was even furthered when a brother in my church then that happened to be an albino wanted to minister a special song.

Most people looked down on him, wondering what this albino wanted to do…but by the time he finished, we all gave him a standing ovation. I was excited as a scientist and even went further in my study of how our genes are the actual seeds of our living.

I wanted to do my final year project in Albinisim, I had even started until I got a job in an investment firm and all interest about science as it concerns our genetic make up died but what didn’t die was my fascination about the powerful principle behind a seed.

The Bible says “Whatsoever a man sows, he will reap.” That is to say, ‘A product is a function of its minute make ups.’ Nothing happens suddenly. There is a law called cause and effect.

If you want to tweak a product, you will have to tweak its make up (or its seed). This law is applied in almost every sector of life and a practical example is in Agriculture, where hybrids are gotten by mating two different species to get a desired trait. It is powerful and absolutely fascinating.

It is a lesson for us that we can change the outputs of our life if we can only change the inputs.

So these inputs are determinants of everything around us and this is what make each of us so unique and incomparable with another person because we are so different that even when identical twins are born, at the basic level, they are not identical at all! They may look identical but about what matters to their living, they are not so identical.

So when we say Roseline is more beautiful than Rosaline, I wonder what basis of comparison we are applying because it is only what is the same that you can compare.

They may be similar at some levels but the inputs that determine Roseline is so so so different from what determines Rosaline. But we say one is more beautiful than the other when each of them is so unique.

There is no way, Roseline can be like Rosaline if she tries all her best to be. It is in the gene and the cellular components.

So when we don’t recognize this and we declare that Roseline is the most beautiful girl and Rosaline is not so beautiful, we make Rosaline’s self esteem go down and she feels Roseline is better than her which is not true at all.

We bring 10 girls together and say one is the most beautiful girl…whereas all the ten girls are the products of 10 different men and women. They are products of different cellular components.

Same thing we do with education, we bring 40 kids together in a school and we put a teacher in front of them…trying to pass a body of knowledge to them.

Now these kids are so different from one another, mostly because of their genetic composition and of course environmental influence. So one writes a Maths test and scored 100/100 and the other doesn’t do so well and we declare one brilliant and the other dull. We have done a disservice to that child.

He goes everywhere believing he is dull and can’t amount to anything because of some scribblings in a test note, red markings in his book and maybe cruel comments by a bad teacher telling him “Poor! under achiever! Advised to withdraw”

Whereas this boy is called upon to fix the generator of the school when it is faulty and he fixes it within minutes excellently. So how come we call him “Poor! under achiever! Advised to withdraw” ? Because we have failed to recognize that he is unique.

How can you gather 40 kids together in a class and expect them to learn the same way, assimilate at the same rate, memorize the same way and reproduce everything they have learnt the same way when they come from different genetic components, different homes and different environmental exposure? It beats me!

I think education as it is practised now in many countries is not fair to many of us and has produced more people believing that they are not brilliant and so doing destroy what they could have achieved if only there was a system of education that can recognize their uniqueness.

And to make it worse, we even give scholarships to the so called very bright students to learn better in places that encourages their style of learning in a focused manner and then expel the other ones from school without giving them opportunity to learn in place that will appreciate their uniqueness.

So when we gather 10 ladies together to know who the most beautiful girl in the world is…permit me to say it is dumb question to answer because you can only compare similar objects with similar components and in this case fundamentally they are different and can NEVER be more beautiful than the other.

So if you have believed a lie that another person is better than you, this is your deliverance. I will only advise you to discover your uniqueness and pour yourself into it…and make people blessed through your uniqueness.

Think!
