READY FOR LIFE OR YOU JUST WANT TO HANGOUT? A QUICK LESSON IN STICKTOITIVENESS

After you get started with what you are to do, the real work starts when the initial steam is completely out…
When you drive the car downhill, you need little or no pressure at all to get going but when you are downhill and you need to climb, you will need to apply some pressure…
This is where boys are separated from men.
It is okay to start off with excitement but you are only going to get going with discipline and sticktoitiveness…but a lot of people don’t have this or don’t know this, so they drop the ball at the slight sign of pressure.
So in their lives, they have scattered all over, corpses of what they started and abandoned.
Jesus took Peter, James and John to a mount and he was transfigured before them…it was so much an overwhelming experience that Peter impulsively said let us settle here…of course Christ didn’t listen to him.
It is simple, mountain experiences empowers us to get going when we are in the valley. When we have retreated, fasted and prayed for hours…listen to messages etc…we must now rise up to do the will of God.
There will be times that it will be fun and easy but at other times, it would seem that you just pray to get through the day but we hang on…that is the memo.
We live in a society that doesn’t encourage laboring silently when it isn’t exciting or when it is tough…we give up a lot on so many things.
We have people with short attention span, short interest span, short loving span, short commitment span etc…a lot of people that can’t go through the process. We want the product but not the process…
One of the reason depression is on the increase, our minds are so fragile, we don’t have grit, toughness that carry through dry seasons, knowing that we will soon get into the rainy seasons.
So as I wrap this up before it gets too long because we won’t read it, if it is too long…(part of what I am talking about) understand that God created times and seasons…you are part of a cycle, enjoy it, maximize it…stick with it, go through it…do whatever you need to do and achieve great things while you still can…time is running out.
I will say go meditate on Ecclesiastes 3.
