We have been taught not to be selfish and be selfless, to always put others before yourself, to do good to others etc
While this is sound teaching and God’s way but the balance also should be that you should love yourself and not self-destruct trying to love and be committed to others.
The angle I am coming from is, when what you have has been taken away from you(job, money,relationship etc), who you are will produce what you need but if you have lived a “slave loyal mentality” life, you will always be at the mercy of benefactors.
A slave has everything in the master’s house but lacks the capability to become anything. What you invest in yourself is for you. Loyalty is not slavery.
God’s perfect community is when the individuals bring their uniqueness to align with his purpose.
This week commit to YOU, invest in yourself.
