FACT – FAITH – FEELINGS

Okay now let us study some tips on our Christian walk, I believe this will help someone’s understanding.

“I don’t think God loves me because I can’t feel anything” I prayed to God for the baptism of the Holy Spirit but nothing happened I didn’t FEEL anything.” “I prayed for God to heal someone and the person didn’t FEEL anything.” “I prayed that I may hear God’s voice but I didn’t FEEL anything”
“I prayed for deliverance for someone and the person didn’t fall down or someone prayed for deliverance for me and I didn’t fall down.” and so on and so forth.

We have all been brought up to feel something; to feel loved or feel hated, to feel pain or feel pleasure, ease or disease etcetera and we simply bring this into our Christian experience but unfortunately it doesn’t work that way in the kingdom.

Our walk is walk of faith. So what is faith? How can I know I have faith? How do I know the size of my faith? How do I grow my faith? etcetera. I know we have so many questions but let us ignore those big theological questions for now and just try to simply things. I bet you like it simple,I do, there is no point making a difficult concept for our feelings more difficult.

Let us take it like this FACT – FAITH – FEELINGS.

It is a fact that I am a man and my wife is a woman, so if I tell my you to believe that I am man (especially if you know me), it won’t be difficult for you to believe you me shey? Now if you come to my house and interact with me I can make you laugh, cry, feel special etc This brief illustration describe how we should relate with God.

It is a fact that God exists (so what about atheists or those that believe in evolution? Well ask them that if man evolved from apes, why haven’t we evolved into something else.) So believing in Him shouldn’t be very difficult especially if you know him (that is why developing our relationship with God is very important, your faith is at the level of your relationship with God.) So if I know God exists and believe that he exists, my feelings cannot change the fact that he exists.

For example, you know I am a man, you believe I am a man whether I make you cry or make you laugh doesn’t change the fact that I exist as a man. Do we gerrit? Winks…

So the Bible says in Heb 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him”

Go back to this again FACT- FAITH- FEELINGS

So it is not our feelings that confirms the fact, it is our fact and faith that may or may not produce the feelings.

Let me explain that before I lose someone people.

It is not because I make you laugh that confirms that I exist rather it the fact that I exist and you believe that I exist and our interaction that produced the laughter in you. So if you were waiting to laugh before yo believe that I exist you have missed the point already. Do you gerrit now?

So if I pray to God for something I should base it on the fact that he exists as a God and because he can’t lie and we wasn’t lying when he told me that he loves me and that he will reward me if I earnestly seek him, I should believe I have my answers WHEN I pray.

Now it doesn’t then matter how I feel, our interactions of FACT and FAITH will produce the desired result.

Going back to all our questions that we started with, the answers to all those questions is that EVERYTHING WE WILL RECEIVE IN THE KINGDOM WILL BE RECEIVED BY FAITH.

So it doesn’t matter if I fall down or not, or I feel electrified or not, or I feel good or not. It is simply by believing. You can then wait for your feelings to catch with the fact and your faith.

You know sometimes the simplest concepts are the most difficult to grasp because it is clouded by our feelings.

Let us end with this scripture Mark 11: 22-24 from the ESV

22 And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God.
23 Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.
24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received[a] it, and it will be yours.

So why not declare this “I have faith in God, I believe that whatsoever I ask in his name in prayer, God will do it. I bless his name for giving answers to all my prayers. Glory to God in the highest.”

Shalom!
