Egbon(elder brother) let us catch that car…na so egbon press the thing o.
Press am, press am…
We were sharing banana at the back seat, enjoying the ride to our school.
Suddenly we heard a very loud noise! Egbon was on high speed, still trying to catch up with the Celica that went past us.
The noise was the left back tyre! We lost it and egbon was trying to battle to balance the car that was insisting on going into the ditch on this dangerous Akure road.
The car was swerving furiously left and right, by this time we were shouting on top of our lungs in the car.
I think tired of the struggle with egbon or maybe he pressed the brake (which he denied)(a quick lesson: I learnt that when you lose a tire on high speed, the only thing to focus on is your steering, DO NOT PRESS THE BREAK)….
Anyway, whether Egbon pressed the brake or not, buuaam! The car somersaulted! I have often read accounts of car accidents and people will say “the vehicle they were in somersaulted 3 or 5 times”. I have always wondered how they counted.
Well, the four wheels were shouting hallelujah soon enough and we were trying to crawl out of the wreckage. At least I didn’t die from the accident but I was almost going to suffocate to death when my dear friend that I was sharing banana with a while ago crawled out and was catching some fresh air….I shouted from behind him, he moved and I finally crawled out.
Out of the wreckage, I didn’t feel any wound until the people that came around us for rescue poured a bucket of water on me. The chill made my wounds come alive.
They got a bus for us and we went back to Ilesa. We were rushed to the general hospital and they called my mum.
Immediately she heard about what happened, she said something that this write up is all about.
……………………….
Let me backtrack a bit. When we were about to leave, my mum prayed with me as our manner is till date before traveling.
We were in the car about to leave, she came close again and prayed with us all. Her eyes didn’t leave the car till we left the compound.
I was a bit embarrassed because this wasn’t my first time of traveling but somehow this was different for her…she couldn’t place it but she felt something wasn’t right.
…………………..
So when she was called that we had accident on the way, she was saying “I said it, I felt somehow about this trip.”
She repeated it over and over.
Now she perceived that something was wrong but she couldn’t place her hand on it.
Well, if she had gotten it clear, maybe I(or we) wouldn’t have made that trip that morning.
How many things do we miss like this?
Things that we could have avoided or things that we could have gained if only we understood our perception.
Many time we feel strongly about things and we can’t clarify it…it is best that we stay action until we have that green light.
The more you give attention to the tugging of God on your inside the more it will get more clearer and sharper. You might miss some but definitely you will get better however don’t make a practice of disobedience, it will shut down your ability to receive.
God leads till tomorrow, pay attention.

Hmmm! May my senses be sharpened not to miss the tugging of God on my inside.
This is awesome and I’ve learnt a good lesson it.
It’s better to stay, calm down when we feel strongly about something and we couldn’t figure it out until it’s clearer #hmmmm
