Sometime ago someone dear to me hurt me deeply and what made it painful was that the fellow didn’t even feel that I was hurt.
Out of my pain and anger, I started saying all kinds of negative words to the person. For me to get back.
I wanted to hurt back with my words.
Many of us have found ourselves in this same situation. Instead of calming down, we say hateful words that we may not really mean deep down but we just want to see the person hurt also. This we feel will bring us satisfaction.
But the truth is that, the more we hurt people with our words, the more we hurt ourselves.
Days after I said those hateful words to the fellow I felt below myself. I wished I never said anything. Taking back those words are now impossible, I destroyed the bond because I was hurt.
When we are hurt, we naturally want to get back at the person but our higher nature- the God kind of nature instructs us to be calm and learn to forgive.
Forgiveness doesn’t make the other person right but it heals our heart of bitterness.
The scripture says “who doesn’t offend in words is a perfect man”
This week let your mouth be filled with graceful words.
Do have a great week ahead!
