Religion keeps shifting the goal post in apprehending God but the truth however is that He is more interested in fellowshipping with us than we are…
Who we seek has apprehended us and it is in knowing this that we begin to see him all around us and enjoying communion with Him.
In every little detail, he is close to us…I am not chasing him to find out that he has moved again.
This religious idea has become a drug for a lot of people to get high on when they go for event but this wears off after a while then they go to the next one to get a fix and this continues… religion thrives on this.
True seeking God is knowing that He actually came to find you and having received his life, you have found him.
This is rest.
Meeting a new friend; you begin to get to know one another, you spend time together, you do things together, you go through the good and bad times together…you are vulnerable to one another…you celebrate and mourn together…that is when true friendship is formed. It is the same with knowing God through the Holy Spirit.
So he is with you irrespective of how you feel now and if you feel far away, right there, right now, talk to him again and you will experience his warmth.
🎹You are the spirit of God, I see you touching my life, Holy Ghost…you are the Holy Ghost, I see you flooding my life🎹
Get to know him, listen for his voice on your inside. See his smile in the face of that baby, in the help you find daily…see Him everywhere around you and suddenly you will see your spiritual senses popping open.
The spiritual is not far away…it is right there in front of you but you are too distracted to notice or you are to busy trying to find him through religion that you miss him.
One day, in far away Agbor, Delta State, I was in a bushy area to meditate and as I soaked in my environment and focused on God…I began to see him talk to me through the bees that were around me…then later through the fenced garden…and till now anytime I intentionally focus my spirit for a while clearing my soul of every dross and debris…I start enjoying that communion again.
I found out, whatever we give attention to grow stronger in our lives. If you give attention to fellowship long enough, you will know what it means to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit.
Don’t seek him through academics, don’t seek him through legalism and religion… don’t ignore him through unrestrained freedom…commit to building your friendship with him, let him be the driver and you a passenger in his car.
Can you take some moments now and say
“Thank you Holy Spirit, for you have apprehended me…you have brought me into fellowship with you and from now, I intentionally grow my attention on things that pertain to you…I commit to building our relationship and look forward to the amazing things you will yet show me. Amen.“
Send me an email for more ways to stay focused on growing that loving relationship with the Holy Spirit.
