…I know you like gist but you are wondering…propose? Via WhatsApp voice note? … what’s that?…well before you crucify me…hear me out first😀
After I started praying again concerning who God will have me marry, having waited and waited for a long while for someone who wasn’t sure wanted to be with me…I just got tired and I sat on the fence in my house scanning my spirit.
I believe that God is a good God, if the person He is leading you to marry is far away, he will find a way to connect you…so I was quite certain that the person that he is leading me to is close by, if it is not the person that I had proposed to…as I knew clearly that I was in the season for it.
So I just sat there that day and was scanning in my heart all God’s daughters around me…then my heart landed on Fatima. She has been my friend for about 2 years but I have never considered her for a relationship, she was just a friend that we shared conversations around purpose, serving God and all.
However the more I tried to scan others, I couldn’t anymore and the truth was also that I didn’t have any amorous feelings towards her at all.
Well, I couldn’t do anything about it as my scan ended on my friend Fatima.
I called my friends and asked them what their opinions were about starting a relationship with Fatima and they all said it will be a good idea, so I asked them to pray along with me and let us check her out.
They all related with her so it was easy to check her pulse on things.
I don’t want to go into all the details but we took quite a long time. We prayed and watched.
Then one morning, my friend came into the office and said he had a strong impression for me to propose to her today, that I shouldn’t delay it anymore. We have scanned, checked her attitude, even the family was checked…
He insisted that I should propose on that day but here I am in Ikeja and Fatima works in Ikoyi…how do we go about this? I couldn’t take permission to be off work to go and propose😂😂😂
But luckily for me, my boss gave one field task or the other to everyone in the office, so I was alone.
I roused my writer’s muse and poetic juices started flowing. I penned my proposal…did all the corrections and editing. Then I used voice recorder to record…I deleted over and over again.
I wasn’t so sure if it was the right thing because it felt somehow, how do you propose to your friend using voice note?????
Anyway I finally got a clean record using my voice recorder.
Then I allowed the excitement of following the leading of the Lord and of being with this amazing lady erase all doubt…and I pressed send via WhatsApp.
Silence….
Silence…
Silence…
As I waited…
Of course by now, you know that the Fatima I am referring to is my wife, Esther Ebunoluwa Omoniyi …this year will be our eight year and the journey has been amazing with her. I look at her everyday and I thank God that I didn’t shimarry…
But what was her reaction to my WhatsApp voice note proposal..how did she receive it…what ensued after that…how did she take it…
