One of the conversations that we need to have is the corruption of sexuality and morality in our society which is gradually creeping into the ecclesia of Christ.
God loves everyone but he doesn’t approve everyone and their lifestyle, he calls all to repentance, a turning away from self, sin and turning to Christ and His life.
Some may cut and paste scripture to defend sexual corruption but you will never be able to defend it with the whole counsel of God revealed in scriptures.
You may say, it is not explicitly stated in scriptures but you cannot deny that is not congruent with the nature and character of God revealed in the scriptures.
I have often read or heard that we don’t need to correct behaviour but the nature. While I agree, understand and believe that everything stems from the nature but we must not also forget that instructions govern culture and lifestyles as well.
Things don’t just evolve on their accord, the instructions (education) that a society is receiving consciously or unconsciously will determine the culture and lifestyle of the people in that society.
Jesus the Christ gave several instructions which pointed at change in culture and lifestyle to our TRIBE.
The Apostles including Paul gave several instructions on culture and lifestyle change after teaching them what it means to be IN CHRIST.
A classic example is the letter of Paul to the church in Ephesus, chapters 1 – 6, is the complete work, not 1 – 3 exclusively nor 4 – 6 exclusively.
I personally feel it is time to stand up to what the word of God says, instructing people in righteousness while loving them at it.
If your life doesn’t agree with the scriptures or what you claim to profess, don’t look for scriptures to defend it or excuse it away, let scriptures correct and align it.
You can use tongues or esoteric deep messages to silence the voice of correction in you but you can’t tear the instructions and corrections clearly stated in scriptures away from the Bible. ALIGN!
So when we instruct people in righteousness and tell them unequivocally what the scriptures says concerning corrupt sexuality and morality, we shape people’s culture and lifestyle.
This is not sin consciousness, this is righteousness consciousness. I am conscious of who I am and whose I am hence anything that doesn’t reflect who I am or whose I am I put is aside.
Right being leads to right living. “I do because I am”
There is a curriculum that you are giving on admission, that curriculum is Christ, you look at Him until you are him in all ramifications.
