I once worked with a guy that will never do anything if he doesn’t know how the assignment will turn out.
He was so afraid of making mistake and failure that he prefers not to take up assignments.
Infact when you give him a task, you will have to explain and explain over and over again. And if he make mistakes or encounter a challenge he points finger at you. We had issues regularly.
He is quite a brilliant chap but he prefers to be taught and wouldn’t take the risk of learning by doing.
We learn best when we push ourselves out of our comfort zone, it is then we can launch into our most creative depths. We risk failing but that is ok, we can try again.
Commit yourself to learning by ‘doing’, ask for more responsibility even if you are not given, create new ways to add value.
Do have a great day!
