On following God’s leading and other issues…

Sometimes you have a leading to do something but you are not sure, so you do it anyway and because it was a success you conclude that indeed God led you…hmm

How many people have been there? I have.

It is what is called in teaching the leading of the Holy Spirit, *”Following the lights..

So if you do it and it was successfully, you conclude that it was indeed a light from God that He is in it. Well, what if it wasn’t successful you conclude that God isn’t in it…

Because we all believe that if God is in it, everything must go on smooth.

People have chosen who to marry based on this premise…Chosen where to settle and live…Chosen careers etc using this means.

But, what is the definition of success according to God? Hmm…that’s the almighty question that we need to answer.

Because you can’t say it was successful using your own criteria and still claim it was God because it was successful based on your criteria. You gerrit?

Now for anyone that may be saying “it is not possible for you to experience difficulty or fail at any endeavour God ‘led’ you” …

Then let us do some Bible study:

Judg.20.18 – And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah shall go up first.

Judg.20.19 – And the children of Israel rose up in the morning, and encamped against Gibeah.

Judg.20.20 – And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel put themselves in array to fight against them at Gibeah.

Judg.20.21 – And the children of Benjamin came forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites that day twenty and two thousand men.

So many questions in the story. Why did God lead them only for them to be killed in battle? Well there are so many theories we can come up with from the story, but if we are very sincere, we were not there, so we really can’t tell…Or were you there?

Why will you pray as a brother and you were sure God was leading you to a sister, only for her to say a big NO

WHY will you as a sister “receive” a brother…and wait, wait, wait… only for him to propose to someone else and today they are married? I have seen sisters that waited years for a brother.

So my conclusion in realities like these ones, there are always two sides to receiving and carrying out a leading. God’s side and your side.

The items of the formula:
God’s Leading= GL
God’s Delivery = GD
Your Receiving= YR
Your Delivery = YD

where GL and GD are constant
and
YR and YD are variables

So for mathematicians, you will say, that the result of the equation is to a large extent dependent on the variables.

All of us can have the same GL+GD but we may have different X because we are working with different variables. Hope I haven’t lost some people? Me too no sabi maths o

How many science students remember that titration question in Chemistry? So you have been doing every thing correctly…and you were feeling good about yourself, only to see the figures from some of the brilliant students in your class and your own figure is so far away from theirs…

And then you just pour all your acid and base away and start all over again. Well well…looking at it from another angle, you may have different variables…maybe the concentration of your acid is higher or lower than theirs…definitely you answer will be different. Apologies to those of you that didn’t do any chemistry.

What I am saying really is success is dependent on your YR &YD.

YOU can count on the faithfulness of God
But work on your receiving and on your delivery….Determine the right figures (God’s success index) from God, get your variables right…and you will succeed.

God’s success index will help you determine if your leading was just the flesh or from the Spirit or the problem with your receiving …maybe because of so many things like emotions, unregenerate desires, confusion or even sleeplessness.

At any time if you are confused, act on the last instructions you are sure of but never take a new step in that state. You may think that time is passing by, it will be better to be slower than God than to be faster than God…

The best is to be on time…but if you are not sure, rest…don’t be in a hurry. Because it is possible to have result and God will not be in it

If many of us have a lot of money, we will not seek God’s will again…All we will be doing is carrying out anything that our money can afford. It is a dangerous thing to be the one directing your life.

So train yourself to be dependent on God at the level of your abundance now…not at the level of your lack. There is 1million to spend as you please, ask God if you should buy a new shoe…

Most of us only follow God when there is no other option…don’t be that believer. Learn to discern His will when there are so many good options.

When 3 great guys propose to you, they are perfect spec, fire tonguing, money, and any other thing that attracts you…How will you handle it?

So at your best now, ask God to lead you…don’t wait till it will get to life determining decisions. You can still afford to miss it at some level but there are some levels you will get to in life, where your missing it is costly. It may cost people their lives and it may cost you yours as well.

So don’t be a spiritual fool, train yourself now…stop relying on guess work.

Let YR be very sharp…such that out of 10, you can begin to get it right 9/10 and who says you can’t get 10/10 in YR.

NOW another important variable is YD…
GL + GD + YR + YD = Success

Your delivery may mess up other variables and even the constant. This is why constant personal development is key.

Let me tell you, David had GL+GD+YR+YL…the YD there was his ability to sling a stone.

Forget all the story about the angel directing the stone to Goliath’s head. David was a skillful slinger

You think he will rely on it if he didn’t know how to sling? That sling in David’s hand was like a gun in the hand of a professional sniper. He was a sharp shooter, He knew where to get him that will bring him down immediately.

So while the guy was fooling around, he was preparing himself to get the perfect spot and boom!‼…Goliath was down.

He relied on God and He was also skillful. He was both and this is formula for being a solid believer.

Be totally dependent on God and be excellently skillful.

So look at the formula again…
GL + GD are K
YR + YD are variables…

Train your variables to be at least 9/10. Can a mathematician give me a correct formula for my treatise?

I have been here several times but as more people depend on my getting it right, I have seen that I can never remain at this level…
I must become sharp.

Let this be one of your goals as a leader this new season…Precision, accuracy, speed, efficiency, effectiveness, skillfulness in handling of your dealings in God.
