The assertion that everyone must START and OWN a business and if you don’t own one you are a failure is not correct, sometimes we over extend truths that it becomes error.
There will be people that will work as employees and build careers that will be highly successful. We have countless examples in our world.
This notion has subtly pressured people that have no business starting anything go into pioneering and it is such a pain in their neck. But put them in a place where they just need to build on what someone else has started, you will see them perform as stars with no stress at all.
Same with ministry, not everyone will start a new work, God has placed in some people the ability to build on what someone else started and if you are one don’t overextend yourself. Stay faithful where he has placed you. Faithfulness is all that counts.
The definition of success in our world is when you have your name on something but I dare to say that is not the definition of success in God’s eyes…FAITHFULNESS is the definition of success.
Many have started something that God didn’t ask them to start just because they also want a platform to showcase themselves. So truly, it is about yourself not what God is doing.
There will be people that will be builders for a while then move into pioneering but there are also people that God has so much engraced for building that if they step out of it they will experience a lot of pain.
I prefer to see it this way, anywhere that you are, see yourself as the business. See yourself as the CEO of your life and then flow as you would as a CEO. The faithfulness and effectiveness will place you where you are supposed to be in life. In a pioneering position or at the peak of your career.
But if you are seeing what you are doing as helping someone and you are not putting in your best but waiting for the time that you have your name on it to give your best, your unfaithfulness is already shooting you in the leg. It shows that all you care about is you. The pride of life is lurking secretly in your heart.
Also like it are people that will never serve unless they are the ones leading, mehn that is a serious problem and it needs urgent surgery to take the cancer out of your soul.
So going back to what I started with, in your make up (and I dare say, your core calling), are you a pioneer or a builder?
In all be faithful!
