When you “seat on the platform, podium, minister’s seat, choir seat, altar”…what other name do we call it?
The critical mistake that we make many times is to feel that the message or whatever is being done is to the people in the audience not to you, so you receive it as “good instructions” for the people and you wait quietly for your turn to speak.
You might even be seated there, marking what he is not saying right, what he should have done, applauding what he did right…or worse correcting his grammar,,,and all kinds of things will be going on in your mind.
Many times also you receive it as a teacher, an already enlightened mind, that will teach this new revelation to others. So you become a transmitter that is not transformed. You will take the same message and go preach in other places but it doesn’t bless you at all but blesses your hearers.
So you continue, you think you are growing but the truth is you are not, you are more educated but not transformed.
The real matter is exposed the day life or the devil confronts you with the same truth.
Lord help my heart…may I not be too familiar with you and your words! Let my heart rejoice at your word but let it also tremble…let your word and your presence encapsulate me so much that I become one with it. Give me a heart that receives your word.
Let me constantly realise that you are first of all concerned about me and not others.
Help my heart Lord!
When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?” Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain until I return, WHAT IS THAT TO YOU? YOU FOLLOW ME!”…John 20:21-22
