*The day King Saul prophesied naked all day and all night….Creating a spiritual environment.*
1 Sam 19:18-24
One of the signs that Samuel gave Saul when he was to be made king was that he will meet some prophets on his way and he will prophesy among them.
In our text as well, a very strange thing happened. Saul sent three group of soldiers to arrest David in Naioth in Ramah, however he was in the company of Samuel the prophet and other prophets.
Immediately the soldiers got there the spirit of God came upon them and they started prophesying. So Saul decided to go himself, on approaching the area, the spirit of God came upon him as well and he started prophesying.
Now my focus isn’t on the wrong that Saul was trying to do. It was the effect of the company of the prophets led by Samuel that caught my interest.
There is a spiritual principle here, if you want to stir up the gift of the spirit in you stay in an environment where the spirit of God is readily in operation.
It is like when coals of fire are burning and you drop a piece of coal inside, what happens to the piece of coal? It catches fire.
There are some churches that you get to and it will seem that you could touch the spiritual atmosphere, you connect instantly and wonders are performed by the power of the Holy Ghost while some others are so sensual that you feel so dry and the only thing experienced is excitement.
This is one of the blessings that Christ gave us, when we fellowship together by the spirit, we bring as it were different coals of fire together and when we pray or worship in the spirit together, we are creating a heavy spiritual environment for the operations of the Holy Spirit.
I remember a particular year at the Holy Ghost convention of the RCCG as the choir began to lead the worship to usher in Pastor E.A Adeboye, it was as if a cloud just entered the auditorium and by the time he started ministering miracles were happening left and right. He didn’t even lay hands on anyone and didn’t even know most of what was happening.
I have also seen it happen many times in even smaller meetings where the ‘coals of fire’ created a conflagration of the spirit and supernatural acts were happening without anyone’s effort.
We are going to see more of it this season as we create room for the Holy Spirit to operate among us.
We must come as a coal of fire and congregate with one another to create an atmosphere where the power of God operates freely. Enough of all this sensual meetings where people are only excited but not transformed. Where we use psychology to appeal to people’s emotion.
We will be empowered by the spirit of God to ensure the will of God is done in our time.
Will you like to press into it right now? Spend sometime praying in the spirit.
