To true disciples of Christ,
Grace and peace to you from our father and Lord Jesus Christ. I will like to share with you on a matter for the moment.
” “The beauty of Israel is slain on your high places! How the mighty have fallen!
Tell it not in Gath, Proclaim it not in the streets of Ashkelon—
Lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, Lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.” 2 Samuel 1:19-20
I am sure many students of the Bible are familiar with the poetic write up. It is from the lament of the bow by David as he mourned the death of Saul and Jonathan.
His attitude to the death of Saul and this lament should be a lesson for us believers in this generation.
And I have adjusted myself for a while now. I have also instructed the people that I am accountable to God. I just saw the need to share it here as well.
When that son of Noah saw his father drunk and naked he laughed at him but the other two sons came and covered him.
The way some of us laugh at the ‘nakedness’ of the church of Christ instead of ‘covering’ it by teaching or doing right will never bring joy to the heart of Christ. It will never bring souls to Christ. So why engage in it?
However it will make the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph and rejoice. It will not bring glory to God. So we say proclaim it not.
Go to God in intercession. Teach the true gospel. Do right. Don’t ever be a party to tearing down pastors and the body of Christ. The leaders rises or falls to their master and I am sure he that called is able to make them stand. That is why he didn’t give anyone the ministry of correction.
You don’t laugh and abuse your father because he is bald. Omo ale lo n se iru e.
It is true that there are many defects but don’t talk about defects, don’t laugh(it is even shameful if you laugh) about it…teach the truth. Uphold the truth.
Don’t be a part of them that will proclaim the death of Saul and Jonathan in Gath(among unbelievers) nor on the streets of Askelon(Social media). Proclaim the truth of the gospel.
And anyway, He will come and he will still meet a church without wrinkle. Are you part of them is the question?
This is a call to intercession.
Reflect and may the spirit of God expand it in your heart as there are many things we can’t say here.
He that has an ear let him hear what the spirit is saying…
