He was called a favoured young man.
The prophet was a wise and tough man. Unlike other prophets, he wasn’t really concerned about taking anyone under his tutelage. If he chose you, it must be that God has spoken to him directly.
It was a great privilege to be tutored by a prophet that carried the double portion of the anointing of the fire man!
It was the talk of the nation for many years how the fire prophet called down fire from heaven, how he stopped rain for 3 years plus and how he called rain to fall again.
It was also a tale that He never died though some disputed it but living with the wise prophet that saw him go to heaven in a chariot of fire has removed every iota of doubt in his heart if it was true. He had heard the story from his mouth severally and how he got the double portion of the anointing upon him.
He could not doubt that he had the double portion because what he had seen staying with him had sufficiently proven that he carried the double portion. He never ran away from anyone unlike the fire prophet, kings of many kingdom called him father and mention what type of miracle that hasn’t happened through him!
The prophet had taken a special liking for him and everyone was already calling him the heir to the prophet. He didn’t doubt it as well because anywhere the prophet travelled to, he will always take him along. He taught him so many things privately.
One day, a senior military man visited from outside the country, seriously sick and needing healing urgently.
He brought a lot of money but the prophet refused to see him because of his attitude. He however told him to do something simple and seemingly ridiculous to bring him down from his high horse.
He initially refused but later swallowed his pride and did it. To his surprise, he was completely healed, he was so appreciative that he brought a lot of money and gifts to the prophets but he refused to collect it.
“I was vexed because we really had need for it had the time but kept my cool, I planned to meet him up along the way to collect my portion, at least if this old prophet doesn’t want anything, I want something for myself.” He thought in himself.
The more he thought about it, the more he felt restless and decided against it. He wasn’t happy but he didn’t go after the military man.
The prophet trained him hard and well. He soon became highly respected among the young prophets.
The old prophet prayed for his eyes to be opened and since that time, he sees into the spirit easily and people already said that is a sign that God indeed chose him to be a prophet.
Years down the line, as the old prophet was about to die, he asked him what he wanted from him.
The young prophet learnt from the best, so naturally he also asked for the double portion of the anointing on the old prophet.
The old prophet laughed and said “Remember that military man that came years ago to visit us?”
“Yes, Prophet” He replied “The one you refused to see and collect anything from his hands after he was healed.”
“Exactly! On that day, I knew you were planning to go meet up with him somewhere. If you had gone, you would have ended up a leper all your life”
The young prophet screamed and laid flat on the floor, crying and holding the feet of the old prophet.
“Kneel and come close my son. Bring me the jar of oil” The prophet said.
He took the jar of oil and poured it upon him and he declared “I release upon you the double portion of my spirit, whatever it is the Lord used me to do, double of it will be your minimum. Through you the nations of the world will know that there is a God in heaven called YHWH.”
IT HAS BEEN HUNDRED OF YEARS SINCE “THIS” PROPHET GEHAZI DIED AND HE IS REMEMBERED HAS ONE OF THE GREATEST PROPHET THAT EVER LIVED.
