Study: Mathew 4:17-22
We continue our study in growing on to maturity. We have examined the basic fundamental truths.
We looked at the fact that we must WANT to grow, we must MAINTAIN our desire to grow, we must NOURISH our spiritual lives, we must EXERCISE and PRACTICE what we have learnt, we must realise that it takes TIME and PATIENCE.
They are powerful responses/attitude that we should have towards our spiritual lives.
Today still focused on our spiritual growth, we are introducing the truth that after your salvation the desire of Christ is that you become His disciple.
It is only disciples that BECOME anything in the kingdom of God. It is only disciples that have the opportunity to carry the burden in the heart of the father. It is only disciples that have access to the secrets of the father.
“He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel” Psalm 103:7
It is only disciples that know the ways of God, others only crave for what they can get from him, the disciple seeks to do the will of the father. He seeks to know God intimately.
No wonder Paul cried “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death” Philipians 3:10 KJV
If your desire everytime is God give me miracle and not God make me a vessel to carry your power to others then you are yet to begin the journey of being a disciple.
Prayer:
Lord I desire to walk with you deeper than ever before. My desire is to do your will O Lord! Let me know you more.
