Study: Luke 9:26, Luke 10:1-2
As we round up this section on the disciple’s lifestyle we must close with one of the most important reason why Christ calls men to discipleship.
God needs representative in every ‘city’ of the world. Now this city we are referring to may be location based or relation based.
Location, that is anywhere God has placed you, relation, that is any people you are in contact with, God expects you to bring the gospel to them.
They must be able to look at your life and testify of a truth this is a christian and I will like to be like him or her.
After our salvation the desire of God is that we go and disciple others. If our life is chasing people away from God then your salvation is questionable.
There are some christians that in their bid to show that are christians, they try to prove to others that they are better than them and instead of their lifestyle attracting people to Christ it repels them.
It is a known fact that many times Christians are the most difficult people not because they have chosen to stay holy but because they just want to make life difficult for non christians. This shouldn’t be so.
The reason that God has placed you in that house, job, organisation, business is to attract people to Christ. You must be an ambassador of Christ.
Christ related well with sinners with a purpose of attracting them to God, he wasn’t joining them to sin but he was showing them how to live to please God in a corrupt world.
As an ambassador of Christ is your life attracting people or repelling them?
Reflect and make amends where necessary.
